PRAYER

At St. Mary’s we believe in the power of prayer, which is literally the powerhouse of our lives as Christians. God longs to hear us as we pray to him. We come to pray ‘in Jesus name’. Because Jesus died for us all on the cross – paying for the sin of all humanity – and rose again from the dead to give us the offer of life with him now, we have access to our heavenly father in prayer.

We can come to him with the needs of the world, of those known to us, of our loved ones and with the concerns of our own hearts. As we turn to him, he hears us and responds. Prayer is simply talking with God, aware that he is both almighty and a loving Father.

Our Services

Sunday

  • 8.45am: Holy Communion.
  • 10.15am: All Age Worship/Holy Communion/Morning Worship/Baptisms.
  • 4.00pm: “The 4” – Starts with coffee and cake, moves into a time of contemporary worship, teaching, discussion, praying for each other and seeing what God does.
  • 6.00pm: Service at one of the churches in the Benefice.

Wednesday

  • 10.00am: Holy Communion with Prayer.

1st Wednesday of the Month

  • 8.30am: Newent and Area Prayer Focus.

Prayer Ministry

If you would like us to pray for you or with you, or for a particular person or situation, then please contact us. By arrangement and according to need this can be extended to further sessions. Also, our Prayer Ministry Team are available at our 10.15am and 4.00pm services and would count it a privilege to pray with you then.

Prayer Chain

We operate a Prayer Chain for urgent prayer requests, so please contact us if there is a need.

Prayer Meetings

Regular Monthly Prayer meetings are held at St. Mary’s generally on the 4th Monday at 2.00pm. See Events on Home page for details.
