Dear All

Please see below some opportunities to show your support for Ukraine and its people, including the many refugees who have fled the war there.

Newent and Area Ukrainian Hub

To support:
* Ukrainian Refugees coming to our town and area
* Host families
We are now meeting on the 1st Tuesday of each month 7.00pm at Picklenash School.
These meetings are for Refugees and their Host Families (whether their guests have arrived or not) and those who are interested in getting involved to support the venture.
Please do mention the meeting to anyone you are aware of who has registered as a host, and come along yourselves if you’d like to find out more. It will be an opportunity to ask questions and share information and discover how we can help each other.

Collection of Items

We want to make you aware of a great new local scheme
*Rotary have opened a shop at The George in Church Street, Newent where donations can be dropped off.
*Donations will then be taken regularly to the Ukrainian Church in Gloucester who do a daily delivery to Ukraine.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid.

John 14.27

A message from Bishop Rachel
“Across our world there are so many places of fear, conflict, war, and the misuse of power; and today the spotlight is painfully focused on Ukraine and Russia.”

“Archbishop Justin and Archbishop Stephen have written a letter,

Ukraine Pastoral Letter from the Archbishops

inviting you to join in prayer for those in Ukraine who suffer grievously, for all who take decisions around the world, and for the people and leaders of Russia too.”

“As we pray for wisdom for our leaders, and for peace and hearts turned out towards the world, may we keep the flame of Christ’s hope alight amid our conversations and daily tasks.”

With thanks for our life together,

Bishop Rachel
