Thy Kingdom Come in Newent!

Big events are coming and so big prayers are needed!

Weeks 1 and 2: Praying for Pentecost

  • Across the nation, we are being encouraged by the Church to pray “Thy Kingdom Come” as we approach the season of Pentecost.  So come and join with others to pray for the coming of the Holy Spirit  at a variety of times so that as many members of the Church family can join together in praying for our local community
  • Come and join us as we pray for the coming of God’s Kingdom here in our town and surrounding villages

Week 3: Praying for the Welcome Weekend as part of the

Archbishop’s Mission to the Diocese of Gloucester – 24th-26th May 2024

Open Air Service at Newent Lake – Sunday 26th May 2024 at 10.30am

  • Continue praying (20th-24th May) – but this time for the events of the Mission Weekend across the Diocese and especially the Open Service at Newent Lake.
  • Our focus at the Service on 26th May  is going to be “Invitation and Welcome”.
  • Please consider ways in which you can pray God’s blessing on these events which might include:
    • A Prayer Walk – around the streets near your home or around the Lake itself
    • Meeting in small groups to pray for specific people
    • Focusing our own prayers on several people locally who we might invite to attend the Open Air Service

Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
